There is something about Pokémon creatures that makes us want to catch them all. Each Pokémon comes with unique traits, looks, and abilities, and we have a collection that has been built over many years.
Nowadays, there are more than 1,000 Pokémon, ranging from the original 151 introduced in Generation I to the most recent additions in Generation IX.
When it comes to their appearance, you’ve pretty much got anything to choose from. From birds to works, and of course, horses.
But let’s niche down and find out all the Pokémon with horse-like appearance. You’ll be surprised to find out that there are actually many equine Pokémon that will make any horse lover happy. This is actually a new trend where the original line from Pokémon “Catch ‘em all” is kind of hard, which is why people are choosing a specific type of Pokémon whether by their element or appearance and they are going on a hunt.
Although most of them have mythical appearances, they are obviously inspired by horses.

Ponyta and Rapidash

This duo brings a different kind of horsepower—earthy and gritty. Mudbray looks more like a donkey than a horse, but it evolves into Mudsdale, which looks more like a horse. When you see Mudbray, you’ll immediately think that this Pokémon is harmless.
Mudbray loves rolling around in the mud, but don’t let its playful nature fool you.
Evolve it into Mudsdale, and you’ve got yourself a powerhouse with a 125-attack stat! It’s like going from a pony to a Clydesdale in no time. Seriously, don’t mess with Mudsdale unless you want to feel the earth shake under its mighty hooves.
Keldeo
Is it a horse? Is it a unicorn? The answer is yes to both. Keldeo is a legendary Pokémon with a splash of unicorn charm. Part of the Swords of Justice, this Water/Fighting-type Pokémon is as majestic as it is powerful. It can walk on water—yep, you heard that right. Keldeo’s movepool is as vast as the ocean, making it a versatile choice in battles.
Blitzle and Zebstrika
Okay, so they’re zebras, but let’s not get picky. After all, this creature has four legs and a body in the shape of a horse. The only thing that will remind you of a zebra is the thunder stripes all over its body.
Blitzle and Zebstrika might not win any beauty contests, but they sure bring the thunder. Literally. Zebstrika is known for its electric-type moves and ability to run at electrifying speeds. Blitzle’s mane even lights up to communicate—how’s that for sparking a conversation?
Stantler and Wyrdeer
Technically, there are more deer than horses, but Stantler and its evolution, Wyrdeer, have a certain mystique that’s hard to ignore.
You get a horse-looking Pokémon with big horns on its head. It has a powerful stance and something that will always scare away your opponent.
Wyrdeer, introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, even acts as your noble steed in the game, helping you traverse the ancient lands of Hisui. It’s got that old-world, mystical vibe that just screams “legendary.”
Glastrier and Spectrier
These two are like the yin and yang of horse Pokémon. Glastrier is a frosty, powerful beast, while Specter is more of a ghostly, ethereal presence.
Personally, I think these two are my favorite horse-like Pokémon. Glastrier has a frozen head, and all of its four legs are frozen. Spectrier is quite scary, to be honest, with its long ghost-looking mane.
They’re part of the Crown Tundra DLC in Pokémon Sword and Shield, and each brings its own unique flavor to the battlefield. Glastrier is all about brute strength, while Specter excels in speed and special attacks.
