The next Smash Bros. will be a reboot of the series, and it’s going to change everything we know about Smash Bros. What if the next Smash was a reboot?
What if the next Smash was a reboot? is something many people have been thinking about. If Nintendo were to make a new Smash Bros, it would be interesting to see what direction they went in.
I shared it on
r/smashbros and it got taken down right away for some reason, but I put a lot of effort into it, so I’ll try again here.
The game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is finished! Every single Smash character has made a comeback. The most extensive roster to date. We’ll have the largest roster we’ve ever had. It’s a celebration of all things video games! What are our options now?
So, what if we went back to our beginnings? What if, instead of honoring the whole gaming industry, we focused on what we truly care about… Nintendo? Ultimate seems like the series’ conclusion, yet a game as huge as Smash can’t simply end. So, what if it’s rebooted?
It was always somewhat (and I mean slightly; please don’t be offended) irritating to witness each new character’s individuality and depth, while the originals appeared a bit bland and (again, for the most part) undisturbed. Yes, the familiarity was appealing, but it also seemed like these movesets were failing to give some of these characters the creative respect they needed. That may all change with a reset! Forget about familiarity; give DK more barrels to toss, Link additional BOTW weaponry, and Mario… I’m not sure what.
Now I know what’s on everyone’s mind. “All right, reboot, but why Nintendo?” And, folks, pay attention to what I’m saying! Simply because. I honestly don’t know why; it’s simply a personal preference of mine. Maybe you could argue that there would be less legal issues and more time to develop additional characters this way. Perhaps it might even shorten the time it takes to create a product? Yes, Snake, Sonic, and even Sora will be missed. We’ll almost certainly be stuck with more Fire Emblem. But I’m quite sure we’d get Waluigi… Personally, I’d want to see more Zelda characters, such as Skull Kid or any of the Champions. I’ve always thought another Pokémon Trainer that only uses Eeveelutions would be great. What’s up, Bandana Dee? Geno Is it possible to pass as a first-party candidate? Yes, this concept would severely restrict the options available to newbies, but by eliminating well-known third-party characters, it allows for the inclusion of some fan-favorite smaller first-party characters.
This may be the most contentious aspect, however… Sakurai is undoubtedly weary of working on these games… but what if he hands the baton to someone else? Don’t get me wrong: Smash is presently my favorite video game series of all time, and Sakurai deserves a lot of credit for that. But, given that Ultimate was supposed to be the end of Smash, it only seems sense that a relaunch would be led by someone fresh. Who knows what else Smash might be used for. It’s improbable, yet it’s conceivable that someone fresh might make it into something… greater.
TLDR: What if Smash is relaunched as a first-party-only game?

Resistance 4: A Series Reboot?
Hello there, everyone. I was thinking about Alt History games with my friend, like Wolfenstein the New Order, and it reminded me of probably my favorite shooter on the PS3: Gawd, not only did the game have awesome creative weapons (and no two weapon limit… Resistance 2 >:C) and split screen co-op, but what I remember most about it was…
What Will Be My Next Game?
Not the level grind, but the bossing and PVP mechanics, as well as how familiar the hotkeys are, have always piqued my interest in Korean MMOs. However, I’ve always despised how many Korean MMOs are heavily reliant on pay-to-win mechanics. I’ve also played a lot of World of Warcraft, and I like that it’s subscription-based…
