The game was released on Steam in April, and it’s been getting a lot of negative reviews. It seems like the developers don’t actually play the game themselves, but instead rely on their friends to provide feedback.
Berry Mentats seem to be malfunctioning once again, with just around a third of the crowds lighting up. I’m not suggesting that we should be godlike, since we should certainly have to modify builds or anything for each challenge, but there should be some kind of counter for each attack type for balance reasons. We have no defenses against ice assaults, and the one defense we have against unseen adversaries is ineffective.
Some maps, such as Arktos, are far too large for timed “hunt down X enemies” challenges, especially when they’re multi-level, there’s no indication of distance to the red dots on the hud, and they don’t spawn properly, so you spend the majority of your time just trying to find enough of them to trigger the next phase.
When it comes to counters, there’s no method to avoid or decrease stagger, and being killed because you’re trapped staggered in the reload animation is a bunch of nonsense. Oh, and you respawn with your pistol holstered and empty, so be sure to take it out and hope you can reload before getting struck again.
The boss guy’s body vanished twice in the three runs I performed, so we didn’t get the additional ammunition and such from him.
Finally, the prize pool is fucking ridiculously inflated. Stash box plans and other “first gen” operations should have been decommissioned or placed into Minevera’s plan pool months ago. Spending many tedious minutes and hundreds of rounds of ammunition for a strategy that I’ve had for over a year is just plain stupid.
This is a small point, but adding bloodbugs and crickets to the scorched enemy list is inexcusably laziness. There’s no rhyme or reason for those insects hanging around with the burnt guys lore-wise, other than the fact that they’re “scorched.” They just couldn’t be bothered to think up new opponents who would make sense.
I refuse to believe that anybody involved in the development of this game could play today’s mission, notice all the flaws, and say, “meh, I’m ok with this.” The only plausible explanation is that they simply throw everything against the wall and see what sticks, rather than really playing the map/enemy/mutation combinations or ensuring that basic things like chems are functioning correctly.
JFC, some individuals are a little dense. It’s hardly a case of “OMG the operations are too tough!!!” It’s because half of the game mechanics are fucking broken and the loot pool is so fucking bloated that it’s essentially not worth bothering since my chances of obtaining a “new” plan are minuscule because the loot pool is still clogged with crappy old plans from three updates ago. If you want to buy another cage bulb or gutter plan, that’s OK, but I believe it’s a fucking waste of time.

I really liked the game and wanted to play it again.
So, for the first time since the game’s release, I had a good time playing it. I had five, yes five, games in a row when the game felt great. It was responsive in every way. On defense, I was able to swap quickly AND to the guy I wanted. And I was still screwed…
What’s the deal with individuals that pretend to play the game but don’t?
This is just a rant/venting session. To put things in perspective, I’ve just arrived to Plankerton SSD4 to give you a sense of where I’m at. Some of the individuals that play this game drive me insane. I’m not sure why people join/start a public quest if they’re not going to complete it. I…
This game encourages poor performance.
GAH, I’m so sick of it, why does WG do nothing to encourage decent play? I’ve lost ten games in a row today because every single team’s top tiers in excellent tanks have decided that the best thing for them to do is camp in situations where they only have…
For the game Fallout, write “Today’s daily op is evidence that the developers don’t really play this game.”
