Patch Notes for Surviving Mars — Below and Beyond Hotfix #1
Improvements to the Gameplay
- Instead of loading things in 5 increments, the lander rocket now loads them in 1 increments.
- The cave-in clearance tech has been moved earlier in the tech tree, now appearing between positions 5 and 8, rather than 13th.
- Rearrange the cargo screens so that buildings of the same kind are grouped together.
- Rewards for recurrent Recon Center discovery events should be rebalanced.
- Colonists and drones becoming trapped in food stockpiles have been fixed. Attention: the repair necessitates the reconstruction of depots and food manufacturing facilities that have malfunctioned!
- Show the Lander Rocket among the pinned objects on Mars as it launches at the last possible moment as an asteroid passes by.
- When launching at the last second as an asteroid passes out of range, Lander Rocket now correctly packs all drones.
- Drones, rovers, personnel, and prefabs are now loaded onto the Lander rocket only if everything is accessible.
- Only if the crew dies in orbit will the “death in orbit” trigger be activated.
- Colonists who perished in orbit were removed.
- Drones can more readily approach cave-ins and clean them.
- If both sides of the elevator requested the same resource, the cargo in the elevator might be lost.
- After the first request, elevator freight could not be updated. This was fixed.
- Right-click cannot be used to move fixed cars via the elevator.
- The right number of drones are spawned by Ancient Artifact.
- The RC Explorer’s auto-exploration mode no longer displays hidden anomalies.
- Icons for pinned surface passage and subterranean route have been added.
- When transferring RCRover, the pin dialog has been changed correctly.
- When colonists perished on asteroids when colonists on Mars or the Underground were still alive, the game ended incorrectly.
- Cables and pipelines were built on the incorrect map, which was fixed.
- While on another map, workshifts are now correctly updated.
- Refabbing landing and trading pads while they’re in use isn’t allowed.
- After loading an old save, DLC buildings will be available in a new game.
- On a previous retail save, the Passenger Rocket UI was missing from the resupply menu.
- Improvements to the cheat panel (available in creative mode only on Windows, Mac, Linux).
Also included were many additional underlying code changes that were creating issues, particularly with save games from before the upgrade.
Fixes for particular platforms
- On certain Windows 7 installations, a startup crash was fixed.
- On Linux, the assert window was removed.
- Disconnecting the controller is a problem.
